The Beckett Igniter 52258-001U Packaging Air Pressure Switch verifies required combustion airflow velocity in packaged oil burner heating systems. Mounted inside the burner assembly of HVAC systems, the switch connects via sensing tubes to measure static pressure differences across the burner housing. When the draft fan generates sufficient air pressure against the internal sensing diaphragm, the electrical contacts close to allow igniter operation and fuel flow. Verifying airflow prior to fuel delivery prevents incomplete combustion, eliminates raw fuel accumulation, and supports safe burner ignition sequences.
