Description
The Rheem-Ruud 61-102213-10 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) control liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator as thermal conditions change. A sensing element reacts to temperature and pressure at the coil outlet used for HVAC systems, causing the internal passage to adjust the refrigerant feed. With a 3-ton capacity, the valve is intended for the specified cooling load and regulates flow according to evaporator conditions. It installs between the liquid line and evaporator inlet, where refrigerant enters the coil. This metering action keeps the refrigerant supply coordinated with the evaporators heat absorption requirements throughout the cooling cycle.
