Description
The Rheem-Ruud PD619086 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigerant metering part that regulates flow by sensing evaporator outlet temperature through a bulb and adjusting internal diaphragm pressure to control the valve opening. This modulation delivers a precise refrigerant supply into the evaporator in HVAC systems such as split air conditioning and heat pump unit and maintaining balanced phase change and stable cooling performance. It is mounted on the liquid line at the evaporator inlet using 3/4″ brazed or flare connections with an external equalizer line for pressure feedback. The valve improves evaporator heat transfer efficiency, maintains steady superheat levels, reduces compressor stress and supports consistent operation under varying load conditions.
